Ed Shultz, born January 27th 1954, is a political commentator, radio and television host and author. Recognized and loved for his somewhat contradictory political assertions he is a self confessed “gun-totin’, red meat-eatin’ lefty.” The combination of views makes for an amusing and often enlightening lilt on the days news.

Radio Show:
Air america radio’s Ed Shultz radio show, also known as the simply The Ed Shultz Show, is one of the most popular properties on the KFGO radio station, North Dakota. The show is syndicated over Jones Radio Network to well over 100 stations by Dial Global, and is available nationally via the Sirius Satellite Radio “Sirius Left” channel. The program is also available on Armed Forces Radio.
Web Stuff:
The radio show has a website over at air america radio bigeddieradio.com which is packed with loads of multimedia news, discussion and communication methods. The site also features listen live links, message boards, event listings, a gallery and subscription to the Ed Shultz news letter.

Television:
On 1st April 2009 Ed Shultz was given a TV show by MSNBC called The Ed Show, and anchored by the former radio host. The new program replaces the 6pm show 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, hosted by David Shuster. The Ed Show is shown at 6pm on Mondays.
Books:
Ed has written one book, his own semi-biography, called Straight Talk from the Heartland. The book, published by HarperCollins, aims to “revitalize the charge against Bush-era conservative cruelty.”
Career:
Before joining the Ed Shultz radio show, Shultz worked a number of other media positions, before that though he enjoyed a short football career. This led him into the media as a sportscaster.
Education:
Shultz was born in Norfolk, Virginia, son of George and Mary. Graduating the Maury High School in 1972, he moved to Minnesota to play football on a scholarship to Moorhead State University.
In the News:
Ed has never been afraid of controversy. In 2006 he invited Michael Rogers of BlogActive, a site that identifies gay politicians and staffers with an intention to expose hypocritical voting habits, onto his show.
