WXTL 105.9 FM Talk Radio in Syracuse NY is a radio broadcasting station located and licensed to the city of Syracuse, New York. The station serves the central New York area and brands itself as “The Big Talker”. The station operates on the 105.9 MHz frequency with an ERP of 4,000 watts. The station is affiliated with Citadel Media and Dial Global. It is currently owned by Citadel Broadcasting and has a number of sister stations including stations WNTQ, WAQX and WSKO.
WXTL 105.9 FM Talk Radio in Syracuse NY was earlier known as station WLTI in early 2000 and branded itself as “Lite Rock 105.9” or simply “Lite 105.9”. The station back then adopted adult contemporary music as its broadcasting format.
It was not until March of 2010 that WXTL 105.9 FM Talk Radio in Syracuse NY began switching to the news talk format and donned its present slogan “105.9 The Big Talker”. The stations present programs now include news/talk shows hosted by the likes of Gary Nolan, Mark Levin, Doug McIntyre and radio programs like The Bob & Tom Show, The Stephanie Miller Show and The Dave Ramsey Show just to mention a few. It was also during the shift to the news talk format that the station began to adopt its present WXTL call letter.
