Answer: They’ve all had their careers assisted by Rush Limbaugh. Levin, Hannity, Drudge, Sullivan, Hedgecock - have all filled in for Rush. Rush grants interviews to both Glenn and Sean. Why? Surely Rush doesn’t need the publicity… And surely it helps the “others” more than it helps Rush.
Actually it’s very refreshing to see. In a world where many, especially those in roles of power, are primarily out for themselves and afraid of building others up - the great Rush Limbaugh has helped to build an entire industry. Making stars out of so many.
But maybe I’m naive? So let me ask YOU why does Rush help the competition? (post your answer in the comments)
Rush is self confident, smart and recognizes that tearing others down is not a way to success. He is his own voice, but understands their is a marketplace of ideas and competition is healthy. He does not fear competition because he is secure in his belief that nobody can beat him…not in an arrogant way, as so many of his detractors accuse him of. False modesty is more irritating than self confidence.
Rush single handedly recreated talk radio. You didn’t list some of his disciples…such as Michael Medved, who seems to think he has “risen above” Rush…he hasn’t, Michael’s a blowhard legend in his own mind.
Rush is his own legend, a true legend and a legend in our minds.
Rush speaks the truth as he sees it.
There is no reason to impede others that wish to enlighten us with the truth about our government and its leaders.
Rush’s ego is grounded in his humility.
Rush wants what is good for America and constitutional democracy
Rush defines the genre, and is above
“competition” as the term is usually understood. Beyond that, he knows that the more voices on the side of traditional American values, the better for the nation.

I agree with Hinckley. Rush set the precedent that sends the message, we are all on the same team. I have seen it crossing over on the net, too. Used to be taboo to post an interesting link from a competitor’s website, now it is embraced as useful information. 3 cheers for Rush.
I have listened to Rush for many a year. All predictios made by Rush have come to light. He is a fact finder with the help of his wonderful satff. He is number one for a good reason. He is honest and to the point. I agree with him for the most part, and I do wish more would listen, however, a number of 20 million listeners is hard to beat. I believe there is no one who can surpass him.
Let me see…where do I start about Rush….I don’t think there is any other man whom I respect more (except my husband of course). I listen to him every day. I have learned more in the last 5 years listening to him and Sean and yes Glenn too. I have laughed alot and cried alot too. I love my country more because of Rush. He’s an honorable man and so humble. He knows he’s been blessed in this life and he’s given alot to our troops and for that I thank him. And even though I don’t know him personally, he’s my brother…he knows we are all in this together.
Rush is not out to conquer the world for himself by himself. He is a passionate conservative educating the world with facts and commentary to the dangers that face free man (and women) everywhere.
What some might call “competitors” are colleagues in the struggle against Communism, socialism, radical Islam, and anyone else who is striving to kill the human spirit.
They are all champions of liberty, individual freedom, and the entrepreneurial spirit. They all fight for good against evil. They may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, be faster than a speeding bullet, or stop a speeding train but they are true heroes of the 21st century.

Rush is genuinely interested in seeing us all prosper and have the greatest opportunities we can have. He intuitively knows that the more people share the message of what it means to be Americans, the more of us will lead successful, satisfying, and productive lives. Rush senses deceit and obfuscation much more so than most, and that he won’t tolerate. On the other hand, exposing lies and mistruths propels him forward on a daily basis; he wishes to support all radio hosts such as Mark Levin and Sean Hannity who seek to further the message. Thank goodness for America and her people that Rush is here leading the charge. We need him, he knows that, and he’s willing to step out and do what is necessary! Yeah!!!!
Vladimir said it all and I agree. I don’t think that Rush looks at any of those men as competitors as much as like-minded men who love their country and want what is best for this country. So they speak their minds…edutaining us as they go…I often say…I have a mad crush on Rush’s mind because of the things I have learned from him over the years. Thank God these men are fearless, even when they are targeted by the haters and drive-by media. Thank God they remain faithful.

Rush is right 99.9 percent of the time and he reflects facts, not emotion and conjecture. Rush just does it right.
I have listened to Rush for over 20 years, he was good at that time as he was one whom confirmed my many thoughts on issues. One reason I was somewhat disatisfied was because he was not straight to the point when it came to Socialism, or the fact that it is worse than a socialized America, and the realization of Muslim Sharia law for America.I state this because people needed this then to really begin thinking about the seriousness of the threat to America, and because most people do not want to believe this, they become defensive or do not take the time to be more informed or just dont care until it is too late.I think we are too late, after all why is it that for years and years the enimie has been pouring into America and no one has stopped this infiltration of all the danger that is already in place. What happened to agencies like Fbi, Cia and all others that are supposed to stop them and the traitors of whom now controll Americas government. that was then and glad to see he has become more engaged on the real truth. Even so, I have a favoriate over Rush and that is Michael Savage as he has told it like it really is way back before anyone else had the courage to speak the reality of what was happening to America and the fact that so many Americans are so easily brainwashed or indoctrinated as too allow god to be taken out of everything our finding fathers bestowed upon us for great reason at the risk of this great country, is beyond my comprehension, is it that they are so self gratified, that nothing else matters? What a price to pay!

It’s because Rush Is Right. He knows that and that gives him the confidence to keep plugging and telling the truth about everything. And that is why the leftists hate him, as well as they hate the rest of us. We are all in this thing together, guys! We had better get off our lily-white duffs and STOP them!

I believe Rush has been blessed by God and truly knows it. His motives are of purest intent.
When a good restaurant picks an excellent location, others follow in the vicinity. Look at entertainment; one blockbuster TV show or movie in a genre breeds spinoff after spinoff. So it’s only natural that the greatest talk show host has been the leader of conservatives and paved the way for others in news-related industries to come on board. (BTW, love that brilliant and witty Mark Steyn!)
I think Rush is just an extremely confident man, and I don’t think he looks at any of the other talk show hosts as rivals, but rather as an extension of what he is trying to accomplish. I think it is as simple as that.
I listen to Rush Limbaugh radio program almost everyday . I live in Japan
so the program is aired only 5 days a week just the first hour, on radio.
I am fascinated by his intellectual and sincere talk. Not only for America
but for Europe( I am italian) his voice is important. He does not need to
compete with any other that’s why he helps his colleagues.
Only about smoking and the right to abortion I do not agree with Rush
but I respect all the rest about this great person:WISH HE COULD BE THE

Rush speaks the truth. Thank God for rush, Mark, Sean and the others. They keep us living in reality. The marxists in washington want to take away our freedom and liberty. They want to make us a nanny state controlled by them. There is a rogue congress and run away government. We are being trampled on by them. Rush has been around long enough to be comfortable and at ease with his audience. He isn’t in competition with other conservative thinkers, he just promotes the cause. He turned me on to Mark R. Levin and “Liberty and Tyranny” not a good read, but a great read!
Rush will always be Rush and a stimulus to the “gray matter”, the brain like the rest of the body shrivels and dies without stimulation.

I don’t see Rush as in competition with the mentioned show hosts. He’s just a bit ahead of the rest. I believe they are all a part of a team, somewhat led by Rush, yet autonomous in their own right, working in concert to stall the destabilization of our country. We really need their voices today with all the political corruption that’s going on in our once-great country. But, sadly, I see a day when people like Pelosi, Ried and the rest of the left will succeed in shutting them down. Then we will see ourselves in a truly communistic-like state! I am a Canadian Living in Btitish Columbia,. I cannot get Rush by radio , as the last Liberal gov’t appointed members to the CRTC which control radio& TV stations allowed to air on Canadian Airways . We now have a conservative gov’t, but they cannot clean up all Liberal appointments , such as CRTC and Immigration Boards, as we don’t yet have a majority gov’t .The other opp party is also left(NDP) they would do everything in their power to keep Canadians from listening to FOX’s right wing shows . Some people have installed “dishes’, but in many ares , a dish is considered ‘eye polution’ .
I’m afraid this is the situation that is developing right there in your own (used to be) wonderful free country . I PRAY that that downward spiral can be stopped before it’s too late - GOD BLESS AMERICA !!! !!!

Regarding Michael Savage….I have listened to him some but usually can’t pick up his show. But when I have I do agree with alot of what he says and I like his renegade attitude but the thing I dislike about his show is he tends to slam other talk show hosts….I don’t think that wins him listeners and I just think he is jealous of them. We are to work as a team and not loners in my opintion. Thats why Rush, Sean, Glenn and Mark have such high ratings and loads of listeners. JMHO

Rush is an amazing talk show host. He will never fear competition,since the TRUTH will always have many voices.The unique thing about Rush is his optimistic TONE,which welcomes listeners to hear his voice. We hear what is usually already in our hearts and mind. This reinforcement brings us listeners back again and again. Other talk show hosts may be saying similar viewpoints, but their TONE is offensive and they lose listeners. Obama, is the opposite example,pleasant TONES in his speeches, disguising the substance of his Anti-American,Socialist viewpoints. From a “mindless robotic Ditto head” ….GO RUSH
I have been listening to Rush for many years and I think Rush just can not help himself. By that I mean, he likes to see people in his feld be successful. I think he likes to commiserate with his radio peers on issues that effects so many people. Rush wants to Expose important issues to as many people as possible so that these issues can be addressed. After all we are all in this together trying to make this a happier place for all of us.
Rush is the representative to being a true American. The right to free speech and expression. He just so happens to be the voice of many Americans without the tools to reach as many people as he does. I believe that those who do not agree with his opinions are threatened because he speaks for so many of us. I do not always agree with everything he has to say, but keep on keepin on.

Who has set he bar so high that the left is constantly comparing themselves to his standard. They can just compare, never coming close.
Rush helps his competition simply because his competition complements his work. All of his competition have a little bit of Rush in each of them. They all tend to use Rush as a baseline for their own style and type of comments on common subjects. Rush has created an Army of followers so that his work can be carried on after his 3 hour/day show. Without the rest of these guys and gals the strong voice of conservatism would not be heard.
No problem with competition, it makes all of them better. Rush can’t carry all of the water by himself. All of the others need to find a niche for themselves if they want to survive.
Glenn Beck is a much needed resource. I like his research, books, radio and TV. Hopefully he’ll continue to follow up on the lies of incumbents, R or D. Hannity does a good job. Bortz has his place, etc. If they don’t have a market—-they won’t last.
We all like to surround ourselves with likeminded people. Rush was alone for a long time and I feel that it’s probably refreshing for him to have others to share the burden.
The Liberals have so many more spokemen and now that the Conservatives have a few, we find ourselves asking questions like, “Why does Rush help his competition?”

Rush isn’t into it for fame or fortune. He’s in it to win it! The more voices on the radio rallying right-minded Americans the better chances are that we the people can turn the tide and take back the land we love. I rarely get a chance to listen to Rush. But I daily hear some of Bill Bennett in the morning and a little of Sean Hannity in the evening going to and from work. The more then better, and we can thank Rush for enlisting additional troops through his “generals.”
I listen to Rush every day. And love him. He says pretty much what I would say if I had a voice. I have been listening to him since about 1989. And it was young people who told me about him. Teenagers!If the government was run by someone like him,we would have no problem.People need to listen to him. He is a true AMERICAN!We need more like him.
There are a few reasons ElRushbo would help the compitition. (1) with just Rush it would only be 15 hours a week from 12-3 mon.- fri. …by having Levin, Beck, Hannity..and so on they’re on at all hours of the day and night shining the light of truth on both tv and radio. so instead of 15 hours its like 100’s of hours a week and lets not forget sunday night live with the great american willie cunningham.. u gotta luv him!! (2)Rush may not appeal to some ppl where as beck may…they all have different styles and ways to bring their msg. to us. i mean look at savage and the savage nation!! its great but not for everyone. (3) Rush is the KING of conservitive talk but he won’t be around forever so you could say he’s not just helping compitition…he’s insuring his msg. the conservitive msg. goes on long after hes gone. First of all Rush is a man of God as are the others you mentioned. I don’t know any Conservative talk host that aren’t believers in God. So they are always willing to lift others up. They aren’t afraid of competition. If I had a good hamburger and wanted to open a hamburger joint I’d put it right next door to McDonalds. Competition doesn’t scare, it challenges you to do better. I love Rush and we are on the same page when it comes to God and Country in that order. The country is waking up thanks to the research Glenn Beck has done through Fox News. He is an honest man and he is giving the American people the questions they need to ask their Representatives. I know people who haven’t a clue who these people in Washington are or what the issues are and it makes me very angry. Rush tells it like it is. Like Glenn he sweetens the pot with humor so it doesn’t sound so dark and miserable. It is worse than dark and miserable. They are stealing your Liberty one page of the Constitution at a time. James Madison said that, ” the Constitution was written by and for Godly men and will work for none other.” He was right and the evidence is in this Congress on both sides of the aisle.
I am also beginning to wonder if anything coming out of the Fed or the Administration is true from the number of books the treasurer keeps to unemployment figures. I believe this is still a shell game and we are being fleeced by the Chicago criminal element in the Administration. How could 479 teachers jobs be saved in a particular Chicago District when they had less than 300 teachers employed in that Chicago District? Is Oboma embarrassed? Of course not he doesn’t give a continental damn for America. He is working as hard and fast as he can to dismantle America before evryone is awake.
He has picked on the wrong Americans this time. The Americans I know don’t go quietly. There is an army of small business people who will have to go out of business because he is forcing them to do things they can’t afford to do. Somehow I never thought of the enumerated talk hosts as Limbough’s “competition.” It seemed to me it was more like building up your own support–competition to me always meant “the other side.” Guess I just wasn’t thinking right! Fifty-some years ago when I did a monthly bulletin for the CA Div. of the Minute Women, USA, Inc., I was always flattered when something I wrote struck it big among other patriots. Of course, it would have been nice if they gave attribution, and once in a while someone would, but most of the time they just took off with the material to which they made their own additions, and in that way we confounded “the enemy,” of which there were as many then as now, except we are much closer to total shutdown now.

Here’s another thing these guys have in common. None of these guys, with the exception of Rodger, if i’m not mistakened, has the courage to support Michael Savage, the LONE soldier. The only guy up on the Front! I’m an under educated, unemployed, blue collar, half white,Christian based faith citizen, and i know, that United we stand, DIVIDED we fall! All these men truly love their country. I listen and watch all of them. It’s very hard to be an conservative in Massachusetts but almost everyday I try to inform the people I come in contact with what is really going on in our government.You can not believe how many just don’t have a clue.I would like a way to get the message out to the people.
I find alot of people don’t know who Rush,Glenn,Hannity and Levin are and what they are all about. I also love my country and hate what is happening since President Regan. I always vote the man not the party.
Rush is my go to for the truth about everything. If it were not for him, I would not turn the radio on. Thank God for him and his boldness in speaking what he knows to be true. I stand behind him and all the other conservative tv and radio talk show host and will do anything I can to help keep them on the air. They are all greatly needed and compliment each other.
Rush is the person I turn to when I want the truth. He “tells it the way it is” with absolutely no fanfare. I know this may seem asinine, but I use Rush for my barometer in judging the politics of others. I do so by viewing the way they exhibit their feelings about Rush Limbaugh. If they tell me that they hate him or label him a demagogue, I construe their thoughts as being anti-Conservative, and feel that these people dislike the man only for his politics. In showing their disdain for Rush, they are telling me what their true political feelings are. When they take the tack by indicating outright hatred for the man, I know that they are not Conservative, even though they prounce themselves as such. In other words, if you don’t like Rush Limbaugh’s politics, you can’t be a Conservative. At best, I categorize these people to be Moderate Progressives who wish to hide their political persuasions from me.
Unlike some of my friends and acquaintances, Rush doesn’t have a jealous bone in his body, and believes that those of his followers he has mentored, including Levine, Hannity and Beck, should be given a helping hand to get them over the rough spots in order to further their careers. Moreover,in his view, they present no threat; au contraire, they are his proteges, and give him comfort, knowing that these very same men will propagate the Conservative principles and values that he himself espouses and holds high. I am not surprised at the enormity of Rush’s following. More power to him!
Rush, and the others you have mentioned all believe in the same things. Since they all have the same beliefs, and since they feel they need to bring their points across in an effort to save the United States, Rush does not consider them as his competition. Nor, would they feel that Rush is a competitor of theirs.

Rush is an American patriot. He recognizes and embraces his fellow brothers that have the same beliefs and commitments as his. He knows that one person cannot be an army within himself. He and all the others that he embraces know they have to fight united, or there will not be a fight to be won.
Rush is one of the best. I think MICHEAL SAVAGE also is one of the best. They need to support Micheal more. Why not have him on their shows? Rush will never be replaced.
